Crown reduction

Trees are often planted without much thought to how big they will get in the future, and it is often the case that a trees branches will encroach on you or your neighbour’s property, causing loss of light to gardens, loss of T.V. reception and damage to roof tiles. In most cases it is possible to sensitively reduce the size and impact of the canopy by carrying out a crown reduction whilst ensuring that a natural flow to the canopy is retained. This is attained by ensuring that all branches are pruned back to a smaller lateral branch roughly a third of the diameter of the removed branch evenly throughout the crown. A well reduced tree should not look as if it has been heavily pruned.
